In class 4 Black History Month we r learning about Martin Luther King. So we had to write a paper about a cause that we suppport. So I did researching cancer. The paper has to be A page long. I’ll paste it below. But can anyone tell me more info that I should Include cuz i need more info. THANX.
My paper: So far:
Like Dr. Martin Luther King, I too have a dream. I have a dream that someday there will be a cure for the deadly disease, Cancer. Many of you probably know someone who has/had Cancer. I know I did. So you probably know the hardships and uncertainty that patients face. Battling Cancer is a painful journey that unfortunately many Americans battle every day. Cancer is a disease which affects a certain part of your body depending on where you have it. I hope that in the near future scientists and doctors can develop new medicines and cures for cancer. The sooner we can stop this disease the sooner we can all go back to a much simpler life, where we won’t have to worry about family members and ourselves. At the moment the only treatments we have to offer are chemotherapy and removing the cancerous cells from the body via surgery. The chemicals used in the chemotherapy radiation process can cause hair loss, energy loss, and mood swings. By losing your hair you are almost losing you are almost losing your identity. Your hair is a defining quality and without it you are not your unique self. Chemo therapy can also cause mood swings causing you to lash out at the people that you love. But these treatments are unstable and cancer it is proven that cancer can come back. This leaves the patient with complete uncertainty, regarding their health. This cause is so near and dear to my hart because I lost a Grandmother to Leukemia before I was born robbing me of knowing a special person. I am not alone in the loss of relatives. Everyday someone else dies with cancer and someone else is diagnosed. This vicious circle goes round and round. Anybody regardless of their age, race, or gender is susceptible to Cancer so it affects everybody.
