This lady takes medication but it seems that her hair has become very thin very quickly. What can she do or take that could improve her hair quality? She has taken her blood pressure meds for a long time.
Do women find men with receding hairlines/thinning hair unattractive? To what extent? Hypothetically let’s say the man is in his early 30s. What should the guy do about it? Shave his head? Hair system? Combover?
My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in june. She’s had the operation to remove and reconstruct her breast. It’s been about 4 weeks now since the operation and she’s received her results back that it’s spread from the breast to 2 out of the 4 lymph nodes that they removed.
She’s been told that she’ll need 6 cycles of chemo with a 3 week break in between each dose. It’s a chemotherapy treatment known as FEC (Flurouracil, Epirubicin, cyclophosamide). But then she has a choice whether she wants to change to a trial regime after 3 weeks. This is where she’ll have chemo every week for 3 weeks to complete the 6week cycle. Has anyone heard of this “trial” regime? Cos my mum’s pretty sketchy on the details as she was upset. She’s pretty worried that she’s going to lose her hair, just because it’s an outward sign that she’s got cancer. Does anyone who’s had this treatment not lost there hair? We’ve been told about a cold cap that can reduce the chances of hair loss as well.
I just wondered what to expect from the overall treatment. Cos there’s a lot of explanations of the possible side effects, but i just wondered if anyone has had this FEC treatment? What it was like for them? and if there’s anything i can do for my mum to make it a bit easier for her to cope?
After the chemo she’ll start radiotherapy. But again, i don’t really know what to expect of it? I’ve read all the leaflets but i think personal experience makes it more believable.
And then after the radiotherapy, she’ll begin herceptin for a year. I know this is a relatively new drug, but has anyone been on it or know someone who’s been on it?

They’ve told my mum that she’ll have the FEC treatments every 3 weeks, and 6 cycles all together. But then they’ve also said at the third cycle of the treatment she may go on to the trial regime. Which she’d have every week for 3 weeks. I think it may be a treatment of other drugs.
I don’t think my mum minds as much about losing her hair. well obviously she does and now you’ve said that i think she’d agree on your part that it’s not worth the risk. But i don’t think she wants to outward sign of having cancer, as people ask about it all the time, she wants some level of normality. I suppose a good wig can help that.
Most people have said that she’ll feel really tired from the chemo. But i don’t think my mum likes the thought of other people running around after her. After the operation she was sneaking away to do ironing and tidying up.

My girlfriend’s currently on a chemotherapy regimen that includes doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone, and cyclophosphamide. I am a 24 year old female and I think I am starting to loss my hair. Every time I wash my hair then style it I brunch out or pull clumps of hair in my hand. This is starting to upset me because it happens ever time and I loss hair during the day. I am not very stressed out so I don’t know why it is happening.
